Course Description

A prestigious club which hosted many professional golf tournaments

Dazaifu Golf Club is located in Ishiana, Dazaifu City, Fukuoka Prefecture, known for Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine. This golf course opened on October 18, 1966. The club has a history of nearly 60 years and has the atmosphere of a prestigious club. The designer is Shoichi Suzuki of Adachi Construction Company, who studied design under Nobukatsu Maruo and has worked under Seiichi Inoue, Giichi Sato, and Osamu Ueda.

The course is hilly with undulating fairways that make play interesting. The hole structure also offers a variety of uphill, downhill, and over water holes. Specifically, the first hole is a gentle downhill and the second is uphill, and the second hole is blind with OBs on both sides. The 16th hole is downhill over a lake and is a signature hole where club control is important.

This is a historic 18-hole hilly course located in the ancient capital of Dazaifu, where you can enjoy a relaxing round of golf surrounded by Manyo poetry monuments and seasonal flowers and trees at each hole. The course is also host to one of Japan's major women's professional golf tournaments, the Japan Women's Open Golf Championship, which is equivalent to the Japanese championship tournament, and other events sponsored by the Japan Golf Association. From this information, it is clear that Dazaifu Golf Club is known for its history, design, and highly strategic course layout. In terms of facilities, there is a 200-yard driving range where you can practice bunker shots.
