Saitama Prefecture is located in the northern outskirt of the Tokyo and ranks fifth in Japan in terms of population by prefecture, following Tokyo, Kanagawa, Osaka, and Aichi Prefectures. Saitama Prefecture is home to many traditional cultural and historical buildings, and the streets of Kawagoe, known as Koedo, attract many tourists for its historical value and beauty.

Every December, Chichibu City holds the Chichibu Night Festival, which has continued for more than 300 years. Together with Kyoto's Gion Festival and Hida's Takayama Festival, it is one of Japan's three most beautiful festivals and Japan's three major Hikiyama festivals, and in 2016 was registered as an intangible cultural heritage by UNESCO.

 

Saitama Prefecture is home to 83 golf courses, many of which are among the finest in Japan. Kasumigaseki Country Club, which was the site of the Tokyo Olympics, the Tokyo Golf Club, which was originally located in Komazawa Park in Tokyo, Hidaka Country Club, Kuni Country Club, which is the top course owned by Prince Hotel, Ranzan Country Club, and Hanno Golf Club are also top golf courses in Japan. These are all famous courses ranked in Japan's TOP 100. Other challenging courses that should not be missed include Musashioka Golf Club, Higashimatsuyama Country Club, Takasaka Golf Club, Kiyosumi Golf Club, and Hatoyama Country Club.

 

Tourist Attractions to Visit

1. Kawagoe city : The city flourished during the Edo period (1603-1867) as a castle town of the Kawagoe clan, the parent and hereditary clan, and is also known as "Koedo" (small Edo). The city has many castle ruins, shrines, temples, historic sites, and historical buildings, and is second only to Kamakura City in Kanagawa Prefecture and Nikko City in Tochigi Prefecture in the Kanto region in terms of the number of cultural assets. The city is recognized as a "historical city" by the national government under the Historical Town Development Law.

Hitsujiyama Park, with its beautiful carpet of shibazakura cherry trees; Mimine Shrine, a shrine of good fortune; Chichibu Shrine, the newest shrine in Chichibu Province; Chichibu Muse Park, a 12-hectare garden with 600 plum trees of 15 varieties; Chichibu Onsen Mangan no Yu, where you can drink the hot water with outstanding benefits; Hodo Ropeway, offering magnificent views of Nagatoro, and more!
