Team competition
Teams will compete according to the groups that have signed up for WGW. Handicaps are calculated using the most popular ※“Double-Peroia” system in Japan. And The average score of the group will be determined the winning team.
Open competition
You can enjoy golf with your members that have signed up together. After play WGW will randomly award prizes based on individual performance. Scores will be determined by double Peoria
*Double Peoria (All golf game in this event the handicaps are calculated with Double Peoria)
First, we will set up 12 holes as hidden holes: two par 3s, two par 4s, and two par 5s on the out and in, for a total of 6 holes each. The total par is 48.
The actual score at these hidden holes is multiplied by 1.5, the par 72 is subtracted, and then multiplied by 0.8 to obtain the handicap for the day.
This method allows you to calculate your handicap based on the number of shots you played on the hidden holes even if you do not have an official handicap. This is the most popular calculation method in Japanese competitions, although there is some luck on the day.
*Nearest to the pin & longest drives
Prizes will also be awarded daily for Nearest to the Pin, Longest Drives and other fun competition.
Scramble
1. About the Playing Method
Scramble Golf involves four people (or multiple players) taking tee shots and selecting one ball from those shots to play the second shot. All team members play their second shots from the same location, and then select one ball from those shots to play the third shot. This process continues until the team holes out, and the team's score is recorded.
2. Tee Shot Limitations
In Scramble Golf, if a team consists of two players, each player must take tee shots for seven holes. If there are three players, each player must take tee shots for five holes. And if there are four players, each player must take tee shots for four holes. However, if there is only one player in a team due to forfeit or other reasons, this limitation does not apply. If the team fails to meet this requirement at the time of holing out, a penalty of two strokes per hole is incurred. (Note: Tee shots must always be selected based on the team's number of players)
3. Tee to Green
The playing order can be freely decided within the team, and each player hits one ball from tee to green. After the second shot, one ball that meets the conditions of the "Tee Shot Limitations" is selected as the best position and marked. The remaining balls are promptly picked up. The selected ball is placed and played within 30cm from the mark on the same surface (lie) area, and all team members repeat this process. Note that the mark cannot be removed until the last player hits.
4. On the Green
On the green, one ball is selected and marked, then placed within 15cm from the mark without getting closer to the hole. All team members take turns hitting the ball, and when one person in the team makes a hole-in, the score for that hole is confirmed. The ball mark cannot be removed until the last player hits.
5. About Bunkers
When a ball enters a bunker, it can be marked, and after leveling the sand, it can be played. Similarly, to maintain equal conditions, the sand can be leveled after each player hits.
The team leader should submit the scorecard to the staff in charge. The calculations and rankings will be determined by the Double Peoria.
Note: Some terms such as ※"Peoria" may be specific to the context and may require further clarification or translation.
