Nishinasuno Golf club opened in 1993, was Japan’s first 18 holes golf course adopting bent grass for fairway and greens and many of its fairways are lined with beautiful red pine trees. Horai Country Club, a sister course of Nishinasuno Golf Club, opened in 1990 is located in the same site. Both courses is worthy of being chosen as Nasu’s premier championship golf courses. Nasu Chifuriko Country Club, managed by a general construction company “KAJIMA”, is highly evaluated from golfers in terms of its hospitality, food, unique accommodation facility and course maintenance. Nasu Kokusai Country Club managed by Tokyu real estate company is known to be one of the difficult greens in this area, hosted LPGA tournament. New St. Andrews Japan with 27 holes designed by Jack Nicklaus is known as a tough and challenging course for even Jack himself. The other Nasu golf courses are worth the drive into the mountains to experience some of Tochigi’s most spectacular scenery.
