Fuji can be seen from 16 holes of this flat woodland course.
Gotemba Tomei Golf Club is a golf course owned by PGM. Designed by Seizo Tomizawa, the course opened in September 1978 and is located in Gotemba City, Shizuoka Prefecture.
It is a relatively flat course with moderate undulations, and is divided into an out course that is rich in strategy and an in course that tests accuracy.
Fuji, while enjoying the lush forests and chirping wild birds on 16 of the 18 holes.
The signature hole is the downhill mid-hole No. 12. The key to score making is to be aggressive up to the 240-yard middle tree and aim for the larger A green. The 15th is a tricky hole where the accurate assessment of wind and distance is the deciding factor. The green is fast from the back, so there is a risk of 3 putts on this difficult hole.
There is a 19-hole 120-yard driving range and an 80-yard wide and 50-yard deep approach and bunker driving range, which are ideal for practice and adjustment. Around the greens, which are prepared for various lie conditions, repetitive practice can be done according to the situation.
The bathrooms in the stately clubhouse are filled with water from 250 meters below the ground, which is a refreshing way to relieve physical fatigue after a long day of golf.
Access by car is approximately 15 minutes from the Gotemba Interchange on the Tomei Expressway from the Tokyo area.
From the Komakado Smart IC, access has been further improved to 3 km (5 min.).
