Course Description

Enjoy the changing seasonal scenery of Hakone, making it a beloved destination for many golfers.

Hakone Kohan Golf Course is a beautiful resort-style course located in Sengokuhara, Hakone Town, Ashigarashimo District, Kanagawa Prefecture. Taking full advantage of the natural terrain, it offers players the chance to enjoy the changing seasonal scenery of Hakone, making it a beloved destination for many golfers.
The course located Sengokuhara, Hakone-machi, approximately 35 minutes from Gotemba Interchange.

The course is surrounded by the outer rim mountains of Hakone, the course takes advantage of the natural terrain, incorporating gentle undulations into its design. The fairways are relatively wide, offering a layout that can be enjoyed by golfers of all levels—from beginners to advanced players. Thanks to the use of Kentucky bluegrass on the fairways, players can enjoy vivid green fairways throughout the year. The outward nine features a dynamic layout with dramatic elevation changes, surrounded by dense forest. The 5th tee is the highest point on the course, offering panoramic views of Lake Ashi, Owakudani, and the Sengokuhara Plateau.

The inward nine is relatively flatter compared to the front, but has subtle undulations. Precision is required, as shots landing in the trees that separate the holes can lead to trouble.

Both caddie-assisted and self-play are available, and rounds are conducted using motorized carts.

Due to several blind holes on the course, first-time players are recommended to play with a caddie for the best experience.

Notable Signature Holes:

Hole 7 (Par 3): A short hole that plays over a pond. It is particularly susceptible to wind conditions, making club selection and shot direction crucial.

Hole 12 (Par 4): A downhill middle-length hole. Aim for the center of the fairway with your tee shot, then approach the green with accuracy on your second shot.

The clubhouse restaurant offers dishes made with locally sourced ingredients.

Recommended Menu Items:

1) Hakone Specialty Curry Rice: Features a richly spiced roux and tender meat—perfect for recharging after a round of golf.

2) Seasonal Tempura Set Meal: Enjoy crispy tempura made from fresh, seasonal ingredients.

The menu changes with the seasons, allowing guests to enjoy new flavors each time they visit.
