Hosted the PGA Championship and many tournaments.
Kanehide Kise Country Club, located in Nago City, Okinawa, opened on October 8, 2001. Originally opened as Busena Country Club, it was renamed to its current name in 2006. It is managed by the Kanehide Group and is known for its design by Michio Izumi. The course hosted the PGA Championship of Japan in 2007 and 2017, and is scheduled to host the 57th PGA Women's Championship of Japan in 2024.
Kanehide Kise Country Club hosts the JLPGA Step Up Tour's Kanehide Misarabi Open every year, with the aim of nurturing young players and raising their level of play.
The course consists of two 9-hole courses, the Ocean Course (Umikaji) and the Woods Course (Yambaru), each with different features. The Ocean Course is a linear layout with a variety of undulations and requires a high level of strategy. The Woods Course is characterized by doglegs, trees, and hazards hidden in valleys.
The key to success is club selection off the tee, accuracy on approach shots, and reading putts. In particular, the 5th hole on the Ocean Course and the 9th hole on the Woods Course, each of which are beautifully designed with a lake encircling the green and a long hole overlooking the ocean and the clubhouse, require strategic play and distance.
