Karuizawa 72 Golf consists of four golf courses (East, West, South, and North) in the beautiful Karuizawa location, offering a total of 108 holes. Robert Trent Jones Jr. designed 36 holes of East course, and the course opened in 1971, which consists of two Course are very different, the challenging Iriyama Course that requires various techniques and skilled shots , on the other hand, the majestic Oshitate Course boasting a highly peculiar layout. This golf course is a 36-hole course that demands diverse skills and strategic thinking from its players in a stunning location surrounded by beautiful nature. The both courses are known as the host course of World Amateur Team Championships 2014. On both courses you can choose whether you want to play with a caddie or without a caddie, choosing to lodge at the five-star hotels located within a ten-minute drive from the courses depending on your style.
East Course's Oshidate 18th hole is very long, over 700 yards, and is a rare par 6 hole in Japan.
Accuracy with the woods is especially important on the second shot as the water comes into play. To play it safe, it is recommended to play the hole in regulation rather than aiming over the water.
Carts can be driven onto the course for an additional fee, and the distance to the pin and the distance to the previous cart are displayed, making play enjoyable.
