Course Description

A prestigious course known by those in the know

Madame J Golf Club is an exclusive golf course located on a hilly terrain rich in nature in Kato-city, Hyogo Prefecture. The course is surrounded by mountains and consists of 18 holes. It is a beautifully landscaped golf course where water and greenery coexist in harmony.

The course is characterized by its white sand bunkers, which are strategically placed and large in size, and are a major feature of the course in terms of strategy and scenery. They are placed in key locations and are large enough to leave a lasting impression. The greens are made of bent grass and one green is used, so the green area is large and well maintained. The undulations are severe, so 3-putts are common. The course is also characterized by the large number and size of bunkers. If you put into a greenside bunker, you will need to hit a long bunker shot to the pin, which should be avoided as much as possible. The course opened in 1992 as Water Hills Golf Club. The course was designed by Fukuichi Kato, who has designed many courses in the Kansai area. It is also a tournament course that has hosted the Mizuno Ladies and Promise Ladies. The signature hole is the final 18th hole, a long par 4 of 432 yards, where the tee shot should be hit to the fairway avoiding the bunkers on the right. The second shot will be a challenge as there is a lake on the left front of the green, and the green is double-tiered, so you should check the pin position in advance.
