A prestigious and strategically challenging championship course
Mission Valley Golf Club is located in Fukuoka Prefecture and was established in 1988 and opened in 1994. The course is a flat, former coal mine site, and features a design that takes advantage of the characteristics of Obara Pond, a natural area of approximately 80,000 square meters, which is designed to host international competitions at any time. Mission Valley Golf Club is designed by Graham Marsh Golf Design. The course is challenging and enjoyable for both beginners and advanced players, as each hole requires a high level of strategy to find the correct landing area for the ball.
The course at Mission Valley Golf Club is forgiving for beginners and demanding for advanced players. It is important to choose the correct landing spot for the ball on each hole. For example, on the 1st hole, the best position is on the right side of the wide fairway, and since the second shot is slightly uphill, a larger club is recommended. Also, at the 17th hole, if you are not confident about your shot over the water, it is better to approach from the left side of the green and putt for par.
The 17th and 18th holes are well known as the signature holes at Mission Valley Golf Club. The 18th hole is designed to be the most exciting stage, especially in tournaments and club competitions, and if you aim your tee shot just short of the water on the left side, the second shot will be easier, but with a great deal of risk.
Mission Valley Golf Club is one of the most famous courses in Fukuoka Prefecture with a rich history and destination, where you can enjoy beautiful nature and strategic play.
