Course Description

Prestigious major championship host course in Japan

Rokko Kokusai Golf Club is a magnificent, stately and classic woodland course located in Kobe City, Hyogo Prefecture. 1975, the course was designed by Fukuichi Kato, a famous designer in Kansai, and in 1996, the course was remodeled and converted to bent greens under the supervision of the great Jack Nicklaus, and evolved into a magnificent course.

The East Course is 7,416 yards long, and has been chosen as the stage for the Japan Open, the most prestigious major championship in Japan, as well as the Japan Senior Open, and is highly challenging.

The West Course, on the other hand, is slightly shorter at 6824 yards, but is an American-style course that requires precise ball control, and was designed and supervised by Jack Nicklaus. Jack Nicklaus designed and supervised this course. The Suntory Ladies, an LPGA event held annually, uses 9 holes of the West Course and 9 holes of the East Course. The course has been the setting for numerous tournaments, and players are sure to be entertained by the challenge and have a memorable day. The course is etched in the memories of golf fans as the stage for the 2018 Suntory Ladies, the final domestic appearance by pro golfer Ai Miyazato. The West Course, the 7th hole, a 405-yard par 4, requires an accurate tee shot to avoid OB on the left side and a second shot to avoid the pond in front of the green on the right side, Three large bunkers surrounding the elevated green will put pressure on you. The club selection should be accurate.

The East Course, 3rd hole is a 217-yard par 3 with a large pond on the right side and the green is triple-tiered toward the back, so you need to select the right club after checking the pin position. 8th hole, a par 4, is a downhill dogleg to the right. The elevated green is guarded by bunkers, so an accurate shot is needed. The 12th hole is a 536-yard par 5 with a lake on the front left of the green, so be careful as you cannot see the green from the second shot spot. 16th hole, a par 4, and 17th hole, a par 3, are both three-tiered greens. Depending on the accuracy of your shots, you must be prepared to three-putt. The final 18th hole is a long par 4 of 490 yards, with a cross bunker that narrows the landing area of the tee shot, but you should aim to get over the bunker. The green slopes toward the back, so it is wise to approach from the front.
