Designed by Pro golfer Nobumitsu Yuhara
Rusutsu Resort Golf 72 is one of the largest golf courses in Hokkaido, with 4 courses, 72 holes. Each course has a different flavor, allowing golfers to choose the course that best suits their skill level.
The Izumikawa Course was designed by professional golfer Nobumitsu Yuhara, with every inch of the course designed to be easy to play for beginner golfers and women golfers, and to fully enjoy the natural beauty of Rusutsu. Surrounded by white birches and conifers, the course layout is flat and magnificent. Skunk cabbages and colorful flowers and grasses are sprouting beside the course, attracting and soothing the hearts of golfers who play here.
This course features hilly terrain, yet there is little height difference on each hole – the maximum elevation is a downhill shot of 17m at the 14th. Beginning with a par-5 hole sprawling towards Westin Rusutsu Hotel, the front nine boasts a short 6th hole showcasing a spectacular view of the green surrounded by a pond. The 9th is a 90-degree dogleg to the right. Characterized by a larger number of straight holes than the front nine, the back nine starts with a par-4 hole with the green situated at a moderately elevated height. Cap off your round with dynamic shots across the vast 18th hole, which stretches more than 50m across.
