Course Description

A challenging round of golf with its magnificent scenery and strategic course design

Southern Links Golf Club is located in Yaese-cho, Shimajiri-gun, Okinawa Prefecture, and is managed by Accordia Golf. The golf course opened in 1988 and subsequently hosted the Men's Tour "Asia Japan Okinawa Open" from 2002 to 2005. It also hosted the 77th Japan Open in 2012.

Southern Links Golf Club was designed by Yoshikazu Kato. Yoshikazu Kato. The  Golf Club is known for its beautiful coastline and strategic course layout, and is considered one of Yoshikazu Kato's masterpieces. After designing Southern Links Golf Club, he moved to Thailand, where he designed Blue Canyon Country Club, Canyon Course and Lake course,  a tournament course on Phuket Island, Thailand.

The course consists of 18 holes blessed with the rich nature of Okinawa, including shots over the ocean, with a total length of 7,009 yards. The 7th and 8th holes are especially well known as the signature holes, requiring a shot over the ocean.

Since this is a links course along the ocean, you basically need to hit the ball low to avoid the influence of the wind. In addition, it is important to read the wind as club selection becomes difficult depending on the wind direction. Also, on the holes over the ocean, it is advisable to take advantage of the wind and make sure to hit the fairway.

Southern Links Golf Club offers a challenging round of golf with its magnificent scenery and strategic course design. It is one of the courses worth playing at least once when you come to Okinawa, where you can experience the comfort of swinging the club as hard as you like while feeling the natural beauty of Okinawa.
