Course Description

A venue of JGTO Qualifying Tournament and LPGA Professional Test

The Sunhills Country Club is located in Utsunomiya City, Tochigi Prefecture. It is 5 km from Utsunomiya IC of the Tohoku Expressway. The course,  opened in 1991, was designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr., is hilly course with 36 holes. In 2007, JGTO Qualifying Tournament and LPGA Professional Test were held. Both of EAST and WEST courses take advantage of natural undulation, so these courses are beautiful and everyone can enjoy golfing. The course is placed on the vast Mt.Nantai and it has beautiful ponds. The EAST course requires various shots for players. Accuracy of approach shot and distance of teeing shot are important. Because of championship course, the course layout is quite challengeable. It is not only difficult but also interesting.

The impressive hole is the 7th par-3 hole. It has a large bunker on the left side, but it is the easiest course to make a hole in one so you had better to aim the pin.

The 13th par-4 hole is the dogleg to the right. As there is the out of bounds on the right side, you should better to aim the little left side of the front tree.

At the WEST course, the 4th par-3 hole is famous but it is not difficult. The 10th par-4 hole is downhill and dogleg to the left. The 13th par-5 hole is the dogleg to the left and it has a pond. Because the fairway has undulation, you should better avoid the bunker on the second shot point.

The clubhouse has the driving range, sauna, Jacuzzi and natural hot spring. And there is a great hotel that you can stay.
