Susono Country Club

Susono Country Club, opened in 1985, is located in Susono City, Shizuoka Prefecture, and it takes 30 minutes by car from Mishima Station where the Shinkansen stops, 10 minutes by car from Susono I.C. on the Tomei Expressway.  

It is located in the east foot of Mt.Fuji and it has a great view. The course area is very large and you can enjoy golfing comfortably with a view of Mt.Fuji. The feature of courses are ponds, bunkers and S-shape hole. The 3rd hole is par-4 that you can see a beautiful view of Mt.Fuji over the pond from the tee ground. The fairway is flat and wide that it is comparative easy to make a birdie.

The 8th hole is a long distance par-3 hole. As it is the most easy hole to make a birdie in par-3 holes, you should aim the green positively. The 14th hole is a straight downhill, and it has a stream across the green from left side to right side. But it has a distance from stream to green, so you should take a courage to aim the green. The 18th par-5 hole is a great long distance hole toward the clubhouse. It is required the accurate approach shot because there is a large pond in front of the green. But it is very difficult to shot accurately as this hole is downhill.

This course is maintenance very well. Especially, the bent green is managed strictly with sprinkler. The green speed is kept in 10 to 12 feet around the year, and the green has thrilling undulations. You need hit an approach shot close the cup, or you will make more than 3-putt. You can enjoy the subtle feeling with putt.

The course is a full-fledged champion course that have held the PGA senior tour "FANCL CLASSIC" for 19 years, and held the qualifying of the professional examination, Shizuoka Professional Golf Championships and various amateur competitions. This course is receiving high evaluations from many amateur players and professional players.
