Course Description

Hosted the Japan Open, the PGA Championship and many tournaments

Taiheiyo Golf Club Ichihara Course, opened in 1971, is a prestigious course located in Ichihara City, Chiba Prefecture¹. The course was designed by Shunsuke Kato and features the latest golf equipment, including a TaylorMade Select Fit Store exclusive.

The Course is dynamically developed on rolling hills in the rich nature of Boso. Each hole is completely separated by natural woods and mounds, and large lakes and bunkers are skillfully laid out to create a magnificent and elegant 18-hole course. The fairways are made of Western-style grasses and the greens are Bent. The distance is 6,842 yards and the par is 72.

The designer of Taiheiyo Golf Club Ichihara Course is Shunsuke Kato. Mr. Kato is one of Japan's leading golf course architects and has designed many courses that have hosted the Japan Open, the PGA Championship, and other tournaments. The Taiheiyo Golf Club Ichihara Course has been highly acclaimed by professional golfer Shoji Ozaki as a course where you can fully enjoy the visual beauty and the fun of attacking.

The Course requires a variety of shots, so much so that it is said that you need to use 14 clubs. The Front 9 Course in particular is long and has many lakes and bunkers, requiring accuracy and power, while the Back9 Course is short but difficult around the greens, testing your approach and putting skills. The overall windy conditions make for strategic play.

The signature holes at the Pacific Golf Club Ichihara Course are the 8th hole  and the 17th hole. The 8th hole is a par 5, which has 605 yards long with a lake running along the left side from tee to green. The 17th hole is a par 4, which has 435 yards long and requires a tee shot to avoid the water on the right. On the second shot, a pond on the left and a bunker on the right await and the green is large and undulating. It is a challenging hole that requires accurate shots.
