Course Description

JPGA Saga Sammy tournament host course

The North County Golf Club is located in Chitose City, Hokkaido. It takes about 1 hour from Sapporo City by car, and 10 minutes from the Chitose airport by car. The course opened in 1990, and the SEGA SAMMY Golf Club Tournament have held every year from 1994. The course designer is Isao Aoki. From his experience of world tournaments, he wanted to make the strategic and exciting course in Japan. He made the tough and beautiful course like Augusta National Golf Club in America and St. Andrews in Scotland. The course was made of only Bent grass and that is the first time in Japan. The course is flat that difference in height is only 5 meters, but it is not easy because it takes advantage of the natural shape. Because of the Links Course, there are not any hazards such as trees, but the course is strategic that there are 8 ponds. Play cool, play tough. From the 16th hole to the 18th hole is famous with ponds.

The 16th hole is par-3 and the island green surrounded by pond is impressive. The 17th hole is par-4 of 392 yards. You must select driver or iron to avoid the pond. The accuracy of second shot is important because there are 5 bunkers on the left side of the green. The 18th holes is par-5 of 536 yards. If you are long hitter, you can get on the green in two shots. As there is a pond in front of the green, care must be taken depending on the pin position.

We want you to play this course once.
