Course Description

A beautiful Japanese landscape with pine and cypress

Tojo Golf Club is located in Kato-shi, Hyogo Prefecture. The course is laid out on rolling hills and is extremely flat, but there are subtle undulations that make the 18 holes challenging. The course designer is Shunsuke Kato, a master golfer who has worked on numerous tournament courses, and it is one of the courses owned by Tokyo Tatemono, a major real estate company.

There are more grass bunkers than sand bunkers around the greens, so the accuracy of your approach shots will determine your score. The course is also completely free of man-made structures such as steel towers and houses, making you forget about the hustle and bustle of everyday life." The concept of the course is to "leave nature as it is. The course design is large in scale and creates an exquisite balance of views by incorporating the surrounding mountains as borrowed landscapes, creating numerous dramas for golfers to enjoy and worry about.

The 2nd hole on the out course is the middle hole with an HDCP of 1. The tee shot is gently downhill, but it is long enough for long hitters to reach the pond on the right side, so you need to decide whether you will hit a long or short shot before hitting the tee shot. The best target is the left side of the pond, but the fairway is narrow and if you go too far to the left, the trees will be in the way and it will be difficult to hit the second shot. It is safe to hit the green in front of the lake, but it is difficult to hit the green in 2 because of the distance to the green. It is safe to hit the green in 3, but if you are caught in the grass bunker in front of the right side, the probability of hitting the green in 1 is very low, so it is better to approach from the left side regardless of the position of the pin. The 10th hole is a long par 5 of 614 yards. The green can be seen from the teeing ground in the distance. The fairway is wide and flat, so you need to keep the center of the fairway. Aim slightly left of the cart path. The right side is prone to trouble and the left side has a pond around 240 yards away. The second shot should be aimed at the right eye of the grass bunker on the left side, but you cannot see this bunker from the second shot. If you can drive 200 yards to the 100-yard stake on the right side, the probability of hitting the green in regulation will increase.

Even if you hit two good shots in a row, you will have 130 to 140 yards left for the third shot. The green is vertical and double-tiered with a high green at the back. The 12th hole is a par 4 with an HDCP of 2. The tee shot should be swung as hard as you can toward the center of the fairway. Many golfers are too concerned about the pond on the left and end up hitting into the trees on the right. The second shot is slightly uphill and remains nearly 200 yards. The green is small and narrow at the back, so it is quite difficult to hit the green in regulation. The green does not look like it slopes greatly at first glance, but it slopes more than it looks, and it is fast from the back, so the rule of thumb is to hit from the front.

The clubhouse is elegant and you can enjoy a quality time here.
