Course Description

A golf course where casual resort golf can be enjoyed

Tom Watson Golf Course, which opened on July 30, 1993, is a seaside course that offers a tropical resort atmosphere unique to Miyazaki City, Miyazaki Prefecture. Designed and supervised by famous PGA star Tom Watson, the course is a public course bearing his name.

Access by car is approximately 24 minutes from the Miyazaki IC of the Miyazaki Expressway via the Hitotsuba Toll Road, and by train it is approximately 18 minutes by cab from Miyazaki Station on the JR Nippo Main Line.

The relatively flat 18-hole course, with a total distance of over 7,000 yards, is beautifully laid out with lush black pine forests separating each hole. Golf carts are allowed on the fairways, so even first-time players can enjoy playing the course comfortably. The out course begins with a par 5 long hole, followed by a series of strategic holes with dramatic challenges such as over water and doglegs.

On the 7th long hole, in particular, pine trees overhang the fairway, so it is wise to aim at the center of the fairway for the tee shot, avoid the large bunker on the right side around the green, and take a firm approach from the center or left side of the green. The 2nd hole, where a near pin is recommended, is a short hole where you can aim for a one on, and since it is located on the coastline, how to read the sea breeze will be the deciding factor in making up the score. The Sheraton Grande Ocean Resort stands in front of you on the in-course, and the impressive 11th hole is one of the signature holes with an impressive tee shot toward the hotel.

The spacious clubhouse with high ceilings has a lounge and a wooden deck where you can fully enjoy meals and parties.

On the first floor is the first Kyushu outlet store of Arigaen Golf, which operates 19 golf specialty  in the Kanto area.
